The National Unity Platform party Deputy Principal and Vice President for Northern Uganda, Dr. Lina Zedriga Waru has been arrested according to reports reaching our editorial desk.
Zedriga was arrested together with the party secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya and some members of the advance team of the NUP candidate in Oyam district where Bobi Wine has been campaigning from since morning.
Dr. Lina in understood to have been on the campaign team for NUP presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine on his campaign trail in the Northern region since Monday.
It remains unclear why police has waylaid the outspoken political doyen but multiple security sources say it is a restraint arrest to bar her from mobilizing for Bobi Wine who has dominated the Northern region since he pitched camp in the area.
Efforts to reach out the NUP spokesperson turned futile as he could not pick up calls but the Daily Express team divulge further details soon as we get the facts.
