Tear Gas, Live Bullets as Bobi Wine is Arrested in Luuka

Counter Terrorism Police and Military have arrested National Unity Platform Presidential Candidate alias Bobi Wine has been arrested while at his campaign venue in Luuka District whisked him away to an unknown place.

Arrested alongside Bobi Wine, include other National Unity Platform leaders after military searched their cars.

According to police, Bobi Wine was holding a rally of more than 200 people which violates the Electoral Commission campaign rules and the Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures.

Several of Bobi Wine’s supporters were also blocked from accessing the rally venue by Police and were dispersed by teargas and live bullets.

Bobi Wine was scheduled to hold a three rallies in Busoga region including Luuka, Buyende and Kamuli Districts.
