The winning team in UBL’s innovative competition dubbed “UBL Creative Hackathon” were rewarded a cash prize of Shs 10 Million and a six-month mentorship with UBL.
The winning team ‘The Local,’ according to the organizers and mentors, emerged with the most creative idea in a competition that rallied several young innovators participate with over 5 teams battling in the competition.
The three day event held from December 10 to 12 saw the participants walk home with lots of goodies included cash among others.
The organizers also revealed that the Local’s project is going to be funded and executed.
‘The Creative Hackathon,’ is a competitive challenge aimed at bringing together young innovators and creative thinkers to collaborate and come up with unique e-commerce solutions for a fast-paced business industry.
The ‘hackathon’ was held in partnership with House of DJ’s with the aim of addressing the need for e-commerce solutions accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
