Just weeks after a herdsman in Mbale killed his colleague using a grazing stick, another vengeful cattle keeper has claimed life of a colleague with a single punch drinking- joint in Rwempwanyi B village, in Lwengo district, on Monday.
The victim, Robert Rwebasira died on the spot, according to Police. His body was recovered at the roadside a few meters from the crime scene.
Police have arrested three suspects (including two herdsmen and a bar owner) from the bar where the bitter argument started before, they were thrown out by management.
It is gathered that the trio went berserk on Monday after drinking alcohol at a local bar.
A police report seen by New Vision indicates that; Rwebasira was in a bar drinking with other revelers and they developed a misunderstanding over money and the bar owner pushed them out to sort their issues.
Investigators said the ‘men who were high on alcohol continued with the argument leading to a fistfight’ that ended Rwebasira’s life with a single blow.
So far, three suspects have been arrested after tracing by the canine unit to help police with investigations. Detectives told New Vision that all suspects are residents of the same area.
