The Forum for Democratic Change has suffered a big blow as its Parliamentary flag bearer for for Hoima East Miles Rwamiti, is allegedly crossing to the National Resistance Movement.
The veteran media personality formerly with NTV Uganda is apparently under castigation from FDC top officials for allegedly being double-sided and being on the verge of defecting to the NRM.
Rwamiti is accused of attending the official launch of President Museveni’s campaigns in Kagadi, which symbolised that he was ready and willing to join hands with the NRM party. Sources privy to Rwamiti’s campaign trail revealed to this site that the FDC strongman is disappointed with the insufficient party funding for his MP campaign. “He is struggling with debts and yet the campaigns are siphoning too much money from him,” the source said. “The FDC does not want to sponsor him. He is considering quiting to defect to the NRM,” the source reveals further.
We could not locate Miles Rwamiti on time but reliable sources say he is planning to present his defection idea to the NRM party chairman Gen. Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni. The sources add that Rwamiti wants to be compensated with all the money and time he has injected in politics on top of a juicy job in any state owned media house.
