NANSANA: Patient Dies at Alter during Healing Prayer In Church at Yesu Amala

NANSANA, KAMPALA: Police in Nansana municipality are investigating the circumstances under which a 38 year old woman collapsed to death while being prayed for at a church located at Nansana Yesu Amala.

The deceased has been identified as Birungi Sarah a follower in the same church whose body was found lying on a mattress already wrapped in clothes on the church floor.

According to Kampala metropolitan police spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire the deceased was also a close friend to the proprietor of a church one Pastor Kisakyamukama Juliet Babirye who told them that she had gone for healing through prayers.

He further adds that five suspects have been arrested to help in investigation including Muwanguzi Prossy, Nakato Janet, Mukisa Noah, Babirye Juliet and 20 years old boy Jumba Tonny.

Owoyesigyire also says it was observed that very many people including children are staying in the same church adding that before the death of Birungi sarah at one point in time Kisakyamukama and the group were arrested and taken to Yesu Amala police station and charged of human trafficking.

However, the case file was mismanaged which resulted into their release on orders of resident state attorney Wakiso before they were produced in court.

Police says the house Kisakyamukama calls church also doubles as a place for lodging of all church members where they sleep.

The body of the deceased has been taken to city mortuary Mulago as investigation is ongoing.
