EXPOSED: Thief who stole $80,000 Fake Dollars from Don Zella at Speke Apartments arrested

Police at Jinja Road are holding a man who allegedly stole $80,000 from Kampala socialite Sheila Nandege popularly known as Don Zella.

Jeremiah Adome, 36, allegedly broke into Nandege’s Room 107 at Speke Apartments that she had booked for 30 days and made off with the money.

According to a press release issued by Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy PRO Kampala Metropolitan Police, CCTV footage recovered from the apartment on December 24, shows the suspect who is at the same time a resident in the building, accessing room 107 with another person yet to be arrested.

They are later seen leaving with items. The suspect later fled to his home in Arua.

Owoyesigyire said the police used all relevant information available and was able to trace the suspect to his home.

He was arrested on Wednesday.

Owoyesigyire said a sum of $60,000 in counterfeit has been recovered from the suspect.

He has, however, insisted that the exhibited money is what he stole from the room.

Police are investigating these allegations.

The Police are also on the hunt for his accomplice, who was seen in the footage breaking into Room 107 at Speke Apartments.
