Police Arrest Merciless Mother Over Rush and Neglect Of 8months Baby

Police at Abaita Ababiri have arrested Margaret Kawambu on allegations of Rush and Neglect Penal Code Act Section 227.

It is alleged that yesterday (05/01/2021) at about 7pm the community of Abaita Ababiri cell Katabi Town Council reported sighting a body of a Juvenile that had been abandoned in a house.

The police responded and the body which seemed malnourished was picked and conveyed to City Mortuary at Mulago for postmortem.
The deceased was later identified as Nakiwala Princess of eight months.

According to information gathered, both her parents are drunkards and have been starving her.

The community also alleges the child was locked in the house since January, 4th this year.

As a result, Police say that the deceased’s father only identified as Kimbowa is also going to be arrested.

The Daily Express Ug. has since learned that statements from witnesses have been recorded and the case file is to be forwarded to the state attorney for perusal and probable sanction on offences of Rush and neglect as investigations go on.
