RUBANDA– The Police in Rubanda District have arrested 5 people in connection with the murder of a man who was beaten up to death by a mob after he was found having sex with a neighbor’s wife.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and said that the incident took place in Hamurabi village, in Kagarama parish in Bubaare Sub County.
Maate identified the deceased as Tumuramye Bright the son of Yayaka Andrew a resident of the same village and the case was reported by Yayaka after the death of his son.
Maate said that after the Police received the report, they rushed to the scene and a postmortem was carried out at the scene and the body was handed over to the relatives for burial.
Maate however did not reveal the identity of the suspects saying that investigations were still going on and more arrests were likely to be effected .
The case of murder was registered at Rubanda District Police Station under reference number CRB 013/2021 to help in further investigation.
Maate condemned the act of mob justice saying that the Police will not allow this act to continue and advised the general public to desist from it because who ever got involved would be delt with according to the law.
