Sodo Kaguta pulls out of Mawogola North MP Race

SEMBABULE, UGANDA: News coming from Sembabule indicate that Museveni’s brother Godfrey Aine Kaguta commonly known as ‘Sodo Kaguta’, has withdrawn from race for Mawogola North MP seat just hours to the election.

Aine reportedly communicated through his campaign team that he was pulling out the race, although he did not provide reasons behind his withdrawal.

Sodo was in a heated race with Shartsi Musherure Kuteesa daughter to Foreign Affairs Ministers Sam Kuteesa.

Shartsi had earlier challenged Sodo for the party ticket in the highly contested NRM primaries which were marred with violence and ended in court with her petitioning the Party Secretariat alleging that there were lots of malpractice.

But Sodo went to court to reverse this decision since he claimed to have won the primaries.

Court ordered that Sodo must hold the party ticket in the 2021 general elections.

Reasons for his withdrawal from the race remain unknown.
