KAMPALA– The Uganda Peoples Defence Force (UPDF) has dropped it’s spokesperson Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso from the race for those who will represent the army in the 11th parliament.
She has reportedly been left out among the 4 females nominees who include Col Dr Victoria Nekesa, Lt Col charity Bainababo, Lt Col Susan Mwanga and Lt Col Dr Jenifer Alanyo.
Byekwaso who is the second highly ranked female soldier in the country was in 2016, at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, elected to be one of the ten military men and women who represent the UPDF in the 10th Parliament (2016–2021).
In August 2020, Byekwaso was appointed Spokesperson of the UPDF replacing Brig. Richard Kalemire.
