Dembe FM’s Jacob Akugizibwe popularly known as DJ Jacob Omutuuze’s elections victory party is in doubt after his close competitor petitioning court for a vote recount.
DJ Jacob who contested on Independent after falling out with NUP over the party ticket is facing stiff resistance from NUP party candidate Bbaale Ferdinand among others whom he competed with for the Bunamwaya LC III post.
NUP’s Bbaale accuses Jacob to have won the elections through vote rigging.
According to the results which were supported by the corresponding DR forms, DJ Jacob was positioned third in the 6 man race behind Democratic Party’s Haruna Kyobe and NUP’s Bbaale Ferdinand.
But surprisingly, DJ Jacob was at the of the day declared victorious having allegedly got the highest votes according to the electoral commission officials, something which his opponents like Bbaale Ferdinand are faulting no wonder they have sought for legal redress for a vote recount.
