BUSHENYI, UGANDA: Grade I Magistrate in Bushenyi District has charged and remanded a one Loyce Tihainomwangire the prime suspect in murder of renowned radio presenter Allan Mandela of Hunter Fm.
In a court sitting presided over by His worship John Paul Osauro, the Grade I Magistrate, prosecution led by Sylus Bwambale alleges that Tihainomwangire, on February 12, 2021, while in Kitwe Rwentuha town council Bushenyi district, caused the death of Allan Mandela, a sports radio presenter at Hunter FM.
After the charges were read to her, Tihainomwangire was not allowed to enter her plea since this Court, according to Osauro, has no jurisdiction to hear such a capital offence case but can only be tried by the High Court.
She was then remanded to Nyamushekyera government prison until March 19, 2021 when the case will come up for mention.
The Bushenyi media fraternity and the entire community on Friday last week woke up to the horrifying news of the death of their beloved radio presenter, Allan Mandela.
Tihainomwangire, a staff at another Bushenyi based radio was a long time lover to the deceased and confessed to the police that she had killed the boyfriend following a bitter fight that ensued between them.
