The Uganda Cranes U20 National Team ‘The Hippos” will today take on North African giants Tunisia while Ghana will open up with Gambia in the Semi finals of the 2021 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

The Hippos who are appearing in the tournament for the first time put up a spirited display to overcome Burkina Faso at the quarterfinal stage winning 5-3 on penalties after goalless result after extra time.

Morley Byekwaso the head coach of the youthful side is optimistic the lads will head into the semifinal on Monday against Tunisia, aiming to go a notch higher.

Whereas Byekwaso is aware of the abilities of the North African side, he remains optimistic that the Hippos have enough in their armoury to wreak havoc and eliminate the former.

Tunisia who eliminated Morocco on the other hand will hope their mean defence once again comes to the fore against Uganda. They have conceded just two goals in four games.

Gambia on the other hand progressed to the semis with a well deserved win over Central African Republic thumping them 3-0 and will now will face three-time champions Ghana.

Ghana had earlier booked their place in the semi-finals following a 4-2 win against Cameroon on penalties after the match had ended 1-1 in over 120 minutes.

The semi-final between Gambia and Ghana will be a rematch of their Group C game which the Gambians won 2-1.
