KIGEZI SUB-REGION, UGANDA: Police in Kabale District is investigating circumstances under which a 37-year-old man hacked to death a 3-year-old boy, before he was lynched by a mob.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed that the incident happened on the 28/02/2021 at around 8pm at Kanyankwanzi cell, Kitumba sub county in Kabale district.
The deceased, Franko Turyamshanga reportedly reached home and found the boy identified as Crescent Muhwezi with his step grandmother, Nyinakiiza Leunida.
He then picked an axe and hacked the boy in the head to death for yet unknown reasons.
The grand mother made an alarm that attracted local residents who beat him to death and burnt his body.
The boy was a son to Franco’s cousin brother one Julius Muhwezi.
