Missing Businessman’s Body Recovered in Mitooma

MITOOMA DISTRICT:- Police have on Tuesday recovered the body of a businessman who was last cited in Kanungu town on Friday (March 5, 2021).

The deceased identified as Ivan Kamunyu was discovered dumped in Mitooma district after allegedly being murdered by unknown assailants.

According to close mates, he was last cited while boarding a private car in Kanungu last week.

A copy of a Police report seen by Daily Express indicated that a case of disappearance was registered on Monday at Butogota police station by the victim’s elder brother, Benard Kamunyu.

According to police, the deceased’s two wives (names withheld) raised the red flag with other family members about his disappearance.

“Since the victim has two wives – with one in Kanungu town and the other in Kabale, it took time to realise that he was missing and his phones were off.

He was last seen on Friday at about 5:00 pm at Rutenga in Kanungu by one, Melesent Kehoda, while boarding a private car that operated along Rutenga to kihihi,” read the report.
