KABALE, DISTRICT:– The Police in Kabale district are investigating circumstances under which a mentally sick woman only identified as Norah was murdered by yet to be known assailants.
The deceased, aged 50 years, who was a resident of Nyakabungo village in Kyanamira sub county in Kabale Municipality was found dead in her makeshift tent on Wednesday morning.
Its alleged that on Wednesday, 10th March 2021 while Turyatunga was by passing Kabale Katuna round-about where Norah used to stay in her Amanyata, he saw her inside though she couldn’t respond to his numerous calls.
She is suspected to have been gang-raped raped by the assailants before being strangled to death.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi regional Police spokesperson, the body after being examined by the doctor, it was found out that the deceased was strangled before she died and her eyes were swollen with blood oozing from her mouth.
Maate says that Inquiries into the incident are still going on to ascertain the cause of her death.
The case of suspected murder has since been registered at Kabale Police station under reference number SD 39/10/03/2021.
The body was taken Kabale Regional referral hospital for post-mortem and later handed over to relatives in Kanjobe for burial.
