Museveni Reappoints IGP Ochola as Police Head

LATEST UPDATE: President Yoweri Museveni has renewed the contract of Inspector General of police Okoth Martin Ochola, the Daily Express has learnt.

Ochola whose contract had expired this month is expected to appear before the parliamentary vetting committee today afternoon for approval.

AIGP Ochola was first appointed as Police Inspector General in March 2018 replacing Gen. Kale Kayihura a position the latter had served for over 10 years. He (Ochola) has served as the Police IGP for three years now.

Since his appointment, Ochola has been deputized by two army generals the latest being Gen. Paul Lokech who replaced Maj. Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi in December last year.

Mr. Ochola joined the police force in 1988 has been raising through the law enforcement body’s ranks to the highest office of IGP.
