No photo on the ballot paper

The new Kyambogo Guild President elect did not appear with his face photo on all the ballot papers printed by the University Electoral Commission.

It is reported that the university administration asked him to replace his red beret bearing photo which he declined, and the University decided to print the ballot papers without his photo.

According to Mbaziira John, “the University administration did not act according to the University constitution. They were just looking for excuses to fail us but the Kyambogo students know what we stand for, a policy-based leadership.”

At time of the election, Mr Mbazira was reportedly arrested and detained by Police.

The National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has come out to congratulate Mbaziira and commended him for the courage he exhibited during the race.

Bobi Wine in a Facebook post noted that the courage that was exhibited by Mbazira and his colleagues when the administration refused their pictures because of having berets was an “Act of Valor.”
