BULANGE, MENGO: The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has refuted rumors circulating about Kabaka’s Health indicating that he is sick.
Speculation about the Kabaka’s health emerged two weeks ago when he failed to show up during the Masaza cup final between Buddu and Gomba at St Mary stadium Kitende with several Buganda royals suggesting that he is sick.
However, while addressing the Buganda Lukiiko on Monday, Mayiga assured the public that the Kabaka is fine, healthy and still in full control of his kingdom.
He explained that the Kabaka is currently in neighboring Kenya where he went to visit Nnamasole Margret Siwoza who was admitted at Nairobi hospital.
Mayiga added that the Kabaka is expected back in the country in a few days.
This is not the first time that speculation about the Kabaka’s whereabouts emerge. In August 2020, rumours on several social media platforms started circulating saying that the Kabaka was critically ill and bedridden.
But Mayiga came out to rubbish these reports saying that they were being circulated by ill thinkers who had nothing positive to focus on.
