Midfielder Khalid Aucho Fired from Cranes Camp over Misconduct

Uganda Cranes Midfielder Khalid Aucho has been dismissed from the team’s training Camp over failure to adhere to the National team Code of Conduct and FUFA Circular dated 4th March 2021.

His dismissal comes just days before Uganda Cranes take on Burkina Faso and Malawi next week in the two crucial Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

According to a statement released by FUFA, Aucho who plies his trade from the Egyptian Premier League side Misr El Makkasa, refused to board the official means of transport organised to pick him from Entebbe International Airport to the team camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel-Kisasi and has not even reported to camp since his arrival in the country.

“The player’s club Misr El Makkasa and Egypt Football Association have duly been informed about the decision and a return air ticket has been issued to him for his travel back to Egypt.”, the statement adds.

Aucho was among the initial 31-man squad summoned at the start of this month to begin preparations for the crucial games slated for Wednesday 24th March (Vs Burkina Faso) in Kampala and an away tie against Malawi on Monday 29th of the same month.

He joins Wycombe Wanderers striker Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru who withdrew from the squad citing personal issues in the United Kingdom earlier in the week.
