SHOCKING! Suspect Enters Kololo Court with a Gun, Threatens Witness

KOLOLO, KAMPALA: Tension and fear marred the Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo as a suspected criminal who entered with a pistol in the court room threaten to harm a witness.

Police rushed to disarm the suspect who has been identified as Cylus Sale Luzinda.

Luzinda, who has been out on bail, was supposed to appear before the court for hearing of the case in which he is accused of being in possession of stolen items. Today morning, Luzinda reportedly arrived at and entered the court room with a Star Pistol.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Luke Owoyesigire says Luzinda, after gaining access to the court, proceeded to the witnesses area and started threatening the main witness who was supposed to testify against him.

“However, the witness rushed out of court and informed the police, which came in and disarmed him. The recovered gun is a star pistol and contained 13 rounds of ammunition,” Owoyesigire said.

It was yet to be established if Luzinda is member of the armed forces and whether he had a license for the weapon.

Owoyesigire said the gun will be forwarded for forensic analysis to establish whether it was fingerprinted during the ongoing exercise of fingerprinting firearms and whether it has ever been used in any crime.

Meanwhile, Luzinda was arrested at the scene, and his bail cancelled by the court.

He was remanded to Kitalya Prison.

Police also plans to slap new charges of threatening violence and attempted murder on him.
