JUST IN! MP Ssegirinya Remanded to Kitalya Prison till 8th April

COURT, KAMPALA: Kawempe North Mp-Elect Muhammad Ssegirinya has been sentenced to Kitalya Prison until next month, Buganda Road Court has ruled.

Segirinya appeared before Buganda Road court on Tuesday afternoon where he was charged with inciting violence, which charges he denied.

The court presided over by grade one magistrates, Gladys Kamasanyu has denied bail to MP Ssegirinya and deferred his hearing to April 8th, 2021.

Segirinya aka Mr Update was arrested on Monday in Kampala where he is alleged to have participated in a protest seeking for immediate release of all detained National Unity Platform (NUP) members.

His lawyer, Shamim Malende tried to apply for bail but the pronounced cadre judge declined to heed to the prayer and decided to dump Ssegirinya to the dungeons of Kitalya prison.

He joined other 35 NUP supporter who were this morning denied bail in the same court.
