Nansana Municipality MP-elect Hon. Wakayima Musoke Nsereko has been dragged to court for allegedly assaulting a fellow candidate during the campaigns ahead of the general elections which were held in January.
Former candidate Stephen Kaweesa who stood as Independent filed a case at the Nabweru Chief Magistrate’s Court, accusing Wakayima of assaulting him after holding a campaign rally.
Kaweesa also alleges that Wakayima’s conduct stopped him from conducting successful campaigns as he was bedridden, something that cost him an election.
Kaweesa’s lawyer Henry Byansi said they had already served Wakayima with the court documents and they were waiting for his response.
However, Wakayima dismissed the allegations leveled against him as falsehoods.
