Gambia and Comoros have sealed qualification for the 2022 AFCON set to take place in Cameroon, the first time ever in their history.
Comoros who were drawn in a tough group alongside Egypt, Kenya and Togo, sit top of the group with 9 points alongside Egypt who drew 1-1 with Kenya to seal their qualification as well.
The two group leaders will now face each other on Saturday, March 27, in what will be the decider of who will top the group.
Meanwhile, Gambia had the difficult task of competing with the likes of Angola, DR Congo and Gabon to qualify for the finals.
They earned four points from their opening three games [one win, one draw and one loss]. It was their win against Gabon on matchday 4 that gave them a great advantage in their competition from the top two spots.
Their win against Angola on Thursday, March 25 sealed the deal as they now have 10 points, just behind Gabon on goal difference.
