The town agent of Adjumani district is expected to appear before the Anti-Corruption Court today to answer to charges of abuse of office and making documents without authority.
Bosco Izama is accused of issuing false revenue receipts for trade licences, plan approvals, and land premiums bearing the name of Molo Madan, Michael Ndromgve, Jacob Drale, Saverino Andruga, and Charles Yassa, an act prejudicial to the interest of his employer.
The prosecution alleges that Izama committed the acts in 2018, with the intent to defraud Adjumani Town Council, without any lawful authority or excuse.
He is battling the charges under Section 11 and 355 of the Anti-Corruption Court and Penal Code Act, respectively.
Both offences attract a maximum sentence of seven-year imprisonment, on conviction.
