Rajiv Ruparelia, the managing director of Ruparelia Group of Companies, and his rally team, dubbed ‘The Rajiv Ruparelia Rally team” on Saturday donated items to Sembabule Hospital as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility move.
The move, intended to give back to the community saw the Rally team give away goodies such as home utensils, sanitary essentials, and my other items which turned out to be a relief for the health center and the patients in the wards.
The rally team led by their lead driver Rajiv Ruparelia assembled an assortment of gifts targeting the maternity ward of the hospital in Sembabule.
According to Daniel Kahiu, the team manager of Rajiv Ruparelia Rally Team, the items donated included 50kgs of sugar, 3 boxes of bathing soap, 3 dozen of cotton wool and 4 boxes of gloves.
Kahiu said they are hopeful that donation will be impactful.
The Rajiv Ruparelia Rally Team was in the area to participate in the Sembabule SMC Rally 2021, the third round of the 2020 National Rally Championship.

Unfortunately, the race turned out a disaster for Rajiv who dropped out of the race in the second stage after an accident with a stray dog along the way left his VW Polo severely damaged and unable to complete the race.
At the time of the unfortunate incident, Rajiv Ruparelia was leading the race and top favorite to emerge victorious, which eventually was won by Duncan Mubiru, who was in second spot before Rajiv dropping off.
