KABALE: Woman arrested for hacking husband to death

Police in Kabale are holding a 45-year-old woman suspected to have cooperated with her children to kill the husband by hacking him to death.

The suspect identified as Evas Nkwasa is a resident of Kigarama B, Hamuhambo Ward, Ryakarimira Town Council in Kabale District.

It is alleged that Nkwasa together with her two sons Isaac Kiiza and Barnet Niwamanya killed Bosco Niwagaba 35 over yet to be established reasons.

Accordinging to the Ryakarimira town council Mayor Canon Enock Kazooba , the deceased was hit on the head with either an axe or a hand hoe after the couple allegedly developed a fight over money they had collected from a jointly owned bar in Kigarama Trading Centre.

According to Canon Kazooba, a neighbor identified as Ms Black made an alarm that attracted residents to save Bosco’s life who was already lying motionless and unconscious. They rushed him to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The mother, Evas Nkwasa was apprehended detained at Ryakarimira Town Council Police Post, before she was transferred to Kabale Police Station.

Kazooba condemned the act and asked married people to make use of his office and other government institutions to settle matters arising within their families and to avoid involving children in Domestic Violence.

The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the incident adding that the Scene of Crime Officers arrived at the scene and picked the exhibits for further Investigations.
