SIRONKO DISTRICT: Shock and grief engulfed residents of Bubalinga village in Sironko district after Former Budadiri West parliamentary candidate, Amani Magombe, committed suicide by hanging.
The deceased body was discovered hanging on an avocado tree in his compound in Bubalingaga B cell Bubalingaga ward Buteza town council in Sironko district on Tuesday evening.
Francis Wandeka, the Bubalingaga village chairperson says that despite being a resident of the area, the deceased has been running a business in Busia district.
Wandeka revealed that the deceased only returned home from Busia on Monday and they are yet to establish what could have prompted him to take his life.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, says that the deceased’s body is lying at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital pending postmortem.
