Byamukama scores a beauty as Express deem Vipers to first home defeat

Express Football Club ended Vipers’ unbeaten home record of the season with a 1-0 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende today Friday, April 23.

The Red Eagle’s midfielder, John Byamukama scored a stunning long-range shot in the 65th minute for the long strike on the sunny evening.

Express had a brilliant start to the game and as early as the 5th minute, winger Godfrey Lwesibawa fluffed a chance towards the Vipers’ goal.

Two minutes later, defender Livingstone Mulondo headed out a Bobosi Byaruhanga corner kick as Vipers made their first attack.

Two quick cautions were given out to Ceaser Manzoki and Charles Musiige in the 13th and 15th minutes respectively for unsporting conduct.

Musiige swiftly recovered from a knock to soldier on after 25 minutes.

Towards the half-hour mark, Express defender Murushid Juuko headed out a dangerous cross from Disan Galiwango.

On the break, a Galiwango corner-kick was headed out at the near post by Yunus Sentamu.

Express defender Juuko got cautioned in the 31st minute.

The visitors had a chance missed when Eric Kenzo Kambale headed over a cross by Lwesibawa from the right flank before Watambala’s curler flew over Express goal narrowly in the final chance of the opening stanza.
