Police humbled Soltilo Bright Stars 4-1 during the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 clash at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
Ben Ocen led the assault with a brace before Yusuf Ssozi and second half substitute Derrick Kakooza scored the goals for Abdallah Mubiru’s side.
Joseph Janjali’s earlier equalizer was turned into a mere consolation for Soltilo Bright Stars ahead of the return leg on Wednesday, 5th May 2021.

Ocen tapped home the opener just after two minutes into the game.
Janjali beat the off-side trap before slotting the ball through the legs of the advancing goalkeeper Derrick Ochan for the equalizer on the quarter hour mark.
Veteran midfielder Tonny Mawejje set up Ssozi who finished past goalkeeper Simon Tamale from close range and Police regained their lead on 22 minutes.

On the half hour mark, Mawejje shot narrowly wide from 20 yards before Ocen made it three with a stunning left footed shot four minutes later.
Substitute Derrick Kakooza finished off the 4-1 emphatic win in the 75th minute with a reflex finishing off Ben Ocen’s pass.
The return leg of the Police – Bright Stars tie will be played on Wednesday, 5th May 2021 at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium, Wakiso.
Meanwhile, the earlier game played at Lugogo witnessed Proline beat a hard-fighting Mbale Heroes 2-1 during the 1 PM kick-off duel.
Captain Noordin Bunjo and defender Savio Kabugo were on target for Proline with dreadlocked Mbale Heroes skipper Jamaldin Buchochera finding the consolation for the visitors with a beautiful diving header.
At the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakiso, home side Wakiso Giants humiliated visiting Tooro United 5-1.
Frank Ssebuufu, Ivan Bogere (brace), Viane Ssekajjugo and Rahmat Ssenfuka scored for Wakiso Giants.
Lethal forward Marvin Oshaba found the consolation for Edward Golola’s Tooro United.
KCCA beat Maroons 2-0 at the Prisons Stadium in Luzira with the goals in either half coming from defenders Herbert Achai and Hassan Jurua.
The Stanbic Uganda Cup returns on Monday, 3rd May 2021 with a single game as Vipers play host to army side UPDF at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende during the return leg.
Vipers smiled 3-1 in the first leg duel played at the Bombo Military Stadium on Saturday.
