Former Jinja RDC Eric Sakwa has survived death after his car has been set on fire by unknown individuals who were reportedly using improvised explosives.
Sakwa’s car was reportedly being driven around areas of Nakulabye in Kampala when a petrol bomb was hurled at it, setting it on fire.
Further reports indicate that the same individuals attacked Georgia building, a building that houses the Uganda Registration Services Bureau with improvised explosives but the fires only caught the parking lot.
“This evening unknown goons threw petrol bombs into the parking lot in Georgian house and some vehicles caught fire, luckily the security on the ground helped to get the fire brigade and the fire was put out,” the police said on Monday evening.
Police revealed that the fire at URSB parking set some cars ablaze but the fire brigade was quick to intervene and extinguish it.
This is the second time cars both government and private are being targeted in a space of less then a week.
On Thursday last week, a number of private cars were attacked by people who hurled improvised explosives at them, setting them on fire.
