GULU: Police officer shot dead by unknown gunmen

GULU DISTRICT: A police officer in Gulu district has been shot dead by unknown gunmen under unclear circumstances, the Daily Express reports.

The deceased identified as Simon Onencan Okot, who was attached to the Field Force Unit was gunned down last night on Friday, May 14 at around 3 am at a place called Pece-Lukung.

The Aswa Regional Police spokesperson, David Mudong Ongom says police detectives at the scene of crime recovered 4 cartridges, as well as an AK 47 riffle number 56-582771232506 with 30 rounds of ammunition, which belonged to the deceased.

By Saturday morning, no arrest had been made according to the police publicist.

The body of the deceased was taken for a Post-mortem as investigation carry on.
