Pictorial: How MPs Turned Up For Day one of Swearing-in Ceremony

Jessica Ababiku, Adjumani District MP was the first to take oath of Member of Parliament

The swearing-in of members of parliament elect kicked off today Monday with a total of 132 legislators taking oath by the end of the first session at lunchtime break.

Parliament allowed the MPs only three people and many of them have today been seen in company of close relatives and friends.

Jessica Ababiku, Adjumani District MP was the first to take oath of Member of Parliament and that of allegiance as established on the constitution.

Soroti City Woman MP, Acom Joan Alobo (L) shares a light moment with Hon Adeke Anna (Soroti District Woman MP), after being sworn-in.

Lira East MP, James Akena accompanied by his mother, former First Lady, Miria Obote, arriving at parliament to take oath.

Bukedea District Woman MP, Anita Among accompanied by FUFA President and incoming Budiope East MP, Moses Magogo to take her oath.

Gen Moses Ali, representing Adjumani West has also taken oath. Gen Ali has been serving as First Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business.

Clad in her blue traditional dress (Gomas), the outgoing Leader of the Opposition, OcanA Aol took her oath of MP and that of allegiance.

Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the Lira District Woman MP elect also took her oath.

Dokolo District Woman MP, Cecilia Ogwal also took her oath of allegiance and that of MP. She is one of the longest serving legislators in the Parliament.

Tororo District Woman MP, the State Minister for Mineral Development, Sarah Opendi arrives at the swearing-in ceremony.

Former Radio One and NBS news anchor and now Mityana District Woman Representative, Joyce Bagala arrives at parliament to take oath.
