The Police in Kwania district have launched a manhunt for a 40-year-old man who is accused of burning his one-year-old daughter to death.
The suspect, Tom Oree, a resident of Olany-otai Village in Aboko parish Aduku sub-county, is alleged to have picked a quarrel with his wife identified only as Aguti on Saturday which turned chaotic.
Isaac Ocen, an eyewitness and resident of the same area, said Oree allegedly beat his wife and reportedly doused their household items with fuel before torching them.
Ocen said, Oree is reported to have grabbed the toddler from Aguti and thrown her inside the house which he then locked. The child was burnt beyond recognition.
The North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson, Jimmy Patrick Okema, confirmed the incident and added that officers who visited the scene of the incident found the toddler dead.
Okema said the Police had already started hunting for the suspect while investigations into the incident continue.
