Makerere fresh graduate shockingly found dead in hostel room

Makerere University is in great shock after receiving news that James Eyangu, its fresh graduate was over the weekend found dead in his room in Kikumi Kikumi – Makerere zone.

Eyangu, who became popular to the campus community for featuring in the MTN Supu advert died just 3 days after he had graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Technology from the College of Veterinary Medicine a Makerere University.

“James was President of the Makerere College of Veterinary Medicine (2019/20) and graduated last week,” said Mathias Ssemanda, an official at the campus told Daily Express.

According to reports, Eyangu is suspected to have died on Thursday night or Friday given the condition in which his body was found.

The fresh graduate’s cause of the death is not yet known but Police investigations are expected to kick off soon.

Eyangu attended his graduation at Makerere on May 19, 2021 and appeared to be in good health where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical Laboratory Technology.

“James will be missed so much by COVAB. May his soul RIP” reads part of the University’s statement.

At the time of his death, Eyangu was already creating content for his YouTube channel.

He described himself as “a free-spirited team leader and leadership coach.”
