Details emerge on Gen Katumba’s slain daughter, she had just returned from US

Brenda Nantongo Wamala, the daughter of Gen Katumba Edward Katumba Wamala who was gunned down on Tuesday morning, has been described by family members as a decent and bright young woman who had a great future ahead of her.

Nantongo was shot dead this morning in Kisasi, Kampala by unknown assailants who raided the vehicle in which she was traveling with her father, Gen Wamala heading for burial of a family member in Najjanankumbi.

Gen Katumba Wamala himself sustained injuries and was getting treatment at Medipal Hospital in Kololo where he was rushed.

Speaking to press at the Hospital this morning, one of family members, Joyce Ssentongo, a sister in law to Gen Katumba revealed that Mrs Brenda Nantongo had just completed her studies.

“She just finished school recently and had started working. She had just traveled back from the US,” she said.

Brenda, she said, was the last born of Gen Wamala.

The deceased was recently pictured with her father during the swearing in of the MPs of the 11th Parliament.

“Nantongo was a very good person. Even her father is a very good person. He is fighting with no one in government,” Ssentongo said.
