Gen Katumba Wamala shot in Kisasi, daughter and driver killed

JUST IN: Works and Transport minister Gen. Katumba Wamala has been shot at around Kisaasi in Kampala by unknown assailants. His driver and daughter are believed to have been killed on spot in the open gunfire.

Accordingly to eyewitnesses, two armed men came trailing Gen Katumba’s vehicle reg number H4DF 2138 before opening fire.

Gen Katumba is said to have survived with bullets in his left arm and chest.

By press time, he was rushed to Malcom and later Nakasero Hospital.

Bullet cartridges could still be seen on the crime scene by press time, suggesting intense shooting.

Police spokespersons were unavailable by publication of this story. Brig Flavia Byekwaso the UPDF Spokesperson said she was still gathering details on the attack and promised to get back to us.
