EXCLUSIVE: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today summoned an urgent National Resistance Movement Caucus meeting at State House Entebbe to discuss positions of appointments in the upcoming cabinet.
According to sources privy to this website, the urgent caucus meeting is expected to see Mr. Museveni name the Vice President and Prime Minister ahead of his slated State of the Nation Address that is meant to take place this week on Friday at Kololo Independence ground.
The source however declined to tip off who the surprising big names could be with the former Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga poised to sqoop a major role in the cabinet after the speakership saga.
Today’s urgent NRM caucus means the parliamentary plenary that was scheduled to officially introduce the Leader of Opposition in parliament today has been called off and will take place on Thursday (tomorrow) instead.
Other names poised to return in the next cabinet include former Premier John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, and Rujumbura county MP Hon. Jim Muhwezi who previously served in the cabinet but was left out after losing the 2016 elections.
