COVID-19 Fight: La Cabana Restaurant moves to offer immune boosters to customers

Kampala’s prestigious dining palace, The La Cabana Restaurant has announced that it will start serving its customers with complimentary health boosters to boost their body immunity amid the COVID-19 era. La Cabana is part of the Ruparelia Group, a conglomerate owned by Uganda’s billionaire and richest man Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia.

According to Iqramullah Liagath Ali, the Food and beverages Manager at La Cabana Restaurant, the move is to see La Cabana customers stay healthy, fit and resistant against any illness that may put their lives at a risk.

“We care about your health that’s why we will be giving each client that comes in a health shot as a way of staying safe in these COVID19 days,” Iqramullah said.

“It’s complimentary on arrival at the restaurant; for the willing customers. Those who are not willing will not be forced to take it,” he added.

The La Cabana health booster is a concoction made up of lemon, ginger, and honey – dawa tea. Iqramullah noted that apart from the health benefits, this health booster is refreshing.

The restaurant business has been classified as an essential service and has been let to operate while their cousins the bars and night clubs have been shut down to prevent the spread of COVID19.

Uganda is undergoing the second wave of the COVID19 pandemic and continues to record higher cases and death than before when COVID19 was first registered in the country.

And efforts as such by La Cabana Restaurant fit well in the government’s strategy to fight the spread of the deadly virus.
