Former Kyotera County MP Pius Mujuzi dead

KAMPALA: Former Kyotera County Member of Parliament and loser in the 2021 parliamentary elections for Kyadondo East Lt. Pius Mujuzi (Rtd) is dead.

According to family members, Lt. Mujjuzi died of high blood pressure today at around 11am.

Mujuzi who contested on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket in the 2021 elections also served as the Resident District Commissioner for Bundibugyo.

He was MP for Kyotera County under the then Rakai district for two terms (10 years) but he was defeated by the former state minister for Microfinance, Haruna Kasolo in the 2011 elections.

His son, Deus Katongole confirmed the death saying that at about 10.30am, his condition started deteriorating and they rush him to a clinic in Gayaza but he died along the way.

The body was taken back to his home in Nangabo where it was still being kept, as friends and supporters started pouring in on getting the sad news.

Katongole said his father had been diabetic for some time.
