Arua Hill Sports Club and Tooro United both earned a direct promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after topping their groups in the FUFA Big League, the second-tier division of Ugandan football.
In the 14 games of the season, Arua Hill managed 8 wins and 6 draws, finishing top of the Elgon group with 30 points while Tooro United had 9 wins, 4 draws, and lost only one game finishing top of the Rwenzori group with 31 points.
Arua Hill sealed off their promotion with a triumphant 3-0 win over Paidha Black Angels while Tooro defeated Kigezi Homeboyz 1-0 to attain automatic promotion on the last day of the season.
The two teams will be playing in the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League season with Arua Hill coming as new entrants while Tooro United bounces back in the top tier division.
The third club to join them in next season’s Star Times Uganda Premier league will be determined through a promotional play off involving four clubs; Gaddafi FC, Blacks Power, Proline FC and Nyamityobora.
Gaddafi fc face Nyamityobora and Blacks Power will play Proline in the semi-final on a date yet to be confirmed by FUFA.
Mbale Heroes and Paidha Black Angels were the two teams demoted in the Elgon group while Kigezi Home Boyz and Terrazo & Tiles were relegated in the Rwenzori group.
