Tycoons in Kampala under their umbrella body of the Kwagalana Group on Sunday paid a courtesy call on Gen. Katumba Wamala at his Najjera home wishing him a quick recovery from the wounds he sustained during an attempted assassination on his life.

Gen. Katumba Wamala was on June 1 attacked in a gun ambush by assassins with intent to kill him. The atrocious incident however claimed lives of Wamala’s daughter Brenda Nantongo and driver Haruna Kayondo.

In a light chat with the Kwagalana tycoons, Gen. Katumba narrated that he never knew that his life was in danger until the gun attack as he treats everyone equal.

“I have sometimes been moving without any firearm believing that I have no enemies because I treat people well but since that incident, I came to know that enemies exist and I have to move carefully,” Gen. Katumba told his guests on Sunday.

The Kwagalana group was led by Godfey Kirumira, also known as Godfrey Kirumira Kalule who is also the chairman of the association.

Others among the guest were; East Africa’s Richest man Dr. Sudhir Ruparerlia of the RUparelia Group, Joseph Yiga of Steel and Tubes Industries, Dick Kizito, Fred Kayiira, John Bugembe, Badru Muwanga, Teopista Nabbaale, Jolly Lutaaya, and Agnes Babirye.
