Burial for Kayunga District LC5 Chairman set for tomorrow

Kayunga District LC5 Chairman Mr. Ffeffeka Sserubogo Muhammad will be buried tomorrrow Thursday, June 17 according to the burial program released by the district authorities.

Ffeffeka’s lifeless body was on Wednesday morning found hanging on a jackfriut tree behind his house in Kyebanja village, Kayunga Subcounty.

“Burial is tomorrow 17th June, 2021 at 2:00 pm at his ancestral home, Kyebanja, Busaale Parish, Kayunga Subcounty,” a statement released by the subcounty councilor read.

Mr. Ffeffeka Sserubogo of the National Unity Platform (NUP) has been the district chairperson for barely a month after swearing-in last month to replace Tom Lwanga as the LC5 chairman. He defeated NRM’s Andrew Muwonge and 3 other contestants to win the LC5 district seat in the January 14 elections.

With uncertainties surrounding his death, several eye witness how downplayed the suicide case claiming he might have been killed and hung up to disguise the murder. While other reports have suggested that he could have killed himself after contracting the Covid-19 disease.

The Uganda Electoral Commission will now look to set a date for the new LC5 elections to determine who will replace the fallen district chairperson.
