MUKONO: Kyetume Football club Head coach Jackson Mayanja also known as “Mia Mia” has resigned from his coaching role at the club after a two-month stint.

Mayanja leaves the relegation-threatened side in the wake of a disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Mbarara City this Wednesday evening at Nakisunga Ssaza playground leaving the club in the red zone with three games to wind up the 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

“I have decided to quit my role as the head coach due to various reasons such as failure by the club to pay both my salary and for the players. I can no longer continue working under such circumstances and only wish them the best of luck in their final league games,” Mayanja told Swift Sports.

Mia Mia took over the dugout at the Mukono based side midway of this campaign replacing Alex Isabirye Musongola (now at BUL FC).

Since joining the club at the beginning of April, Mayanja managed eleven games registering three wins, six defeats and two draws. He has garnered 11 points during his short 2-month spell at the club.

The club has since announced that Jimmy Kintu will temporarily take charge of the club’s remaining three games on an interim basis to ensure that they fight for survival.

Kyetume currently sits in the 14th position on 23 points with their last 3 fixtures coming up against Soltilo Bright Stars (away), Onduparaka (home), and Vipers Sports Club (away).
