PSFU’s Francis Kisirinya replaces Late Badagawa as acting ED

The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) has on Thursday appointed Mr. Francis Kisirinya as the new Executive Director, following the untimely demise of Mr. Gideon Bagadawa who succumbed to COVID-19 last week.

According to a letter dated July 1, Dr. Elly Karuhanga the Board of Directors Chairperson at PSFU confirmed the appointment saying Kisirinya who has been Bagadawa’s Deputy will work under the “Acting” title until further notice.

“On behalf of the PSFU Board of Directors, I am pleased to inform you that Mr. Francis Kisirinya has been appointed as Acting Executive Director for Private Sector Foundation Uganda,” part of the letter seen by this website reads.

Karuhanga noted that this appointment “commences 1st July 2021 for a period of six months until a substantive Executive Director shall be appointed by the Board,”

“We are optimistic that he will follow through to continue promoting private sector competitiveness and development through this transition period,” Karuhanga noted.

Francis Kisirinya is the new ED at PSFU

Kisirinya prior to this appointment has served PSFU in various capacities; the Director of Finance before deputizing the deceased Bagadawa.

Following the death of his Boss, Kisirinya implored the government to strengthen the health systems to build trust amidst this deadly second wave of covid-19.

He said that there is a need to special attention to the quality management in Uganda’s health system

Uganda’s private sector apex body is made up of over 250 business associations, corporate bodies and public sector Agencies that support private sector growth.

It has served as a focal point for private sector advocacy as well as capacity building and continues to sustain a positive dialogue with Government on behalf of the private sector since its formation in 1995.

It is also Government’s implementation partner for several projects and programs aimed at strengthening the private sector as an engine of economic growth
