BUSHENYI– Canon Azaria Baryaruha, the Former Minister of Industry in the Ugandan Government is dead.
According to family sources, Baryaruha, a renowned businessman from Bushenyi District in western Uganda died from Mulago National Referral Hospital where he has been receiving treatment.
The deceased, who became popular as the first graduate from his home village back in the 1960s, served in the Ugandan government during the early years of Museveni’s regime.
He is also the father of Marvin Baryaruha, a former aspirant in last year’s Bushenyi Ishaka NRM parliamentary primaries.
Nathan Mugumya a member of Baryaruha’s family, told the Daily Express that the deceased will be remembered as instrumental Mzee in financing the NRA war and his service in government during the 1990s.
“He will be missed as an elder who guided and advised the young generation to live responsible lives,” Mugumya said.
Canon Baryaruha will be laid to rest on Wednesday this week at his ancestral home in Nyaruzinga Bushenyi- Ishaka municipality.
