KAMPALA: The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Deputy Registrar General in charge of Finance & Administration, Mr. Alfred Mugisha has died.
Mugisha, who is also the former Chief Administration Officer – CAO for Bushenyi District succumbed to COVID-19 after battling the infectious disease for weeks under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“With deep sorrow & profound sadness, we announce the promotion to God’s glory of our Deputy Registrar General-Finance & Administration, Mr. Alfred Mugisha. Please pray for us as we mourn our loss. May God grant Alfred eternal rest,” URSB tweeted on a cold Friday morning.
Reports gathered by press time indicated that Mugisha had steadily recovered from ICU and was discharged and told to have some rest off work but his colleagues at URSB were shocked when he was pronounced dead yet he had recovered and was getting better.
He joins the list of prominent government officials and ministers to succumb to the deadly covid19 disease that claimed over 3000 Ugandans since its outbreak in March last year.
