CRIME | KAMPALA: The territorial department at Kira Road Police is investigating a robbery incident yesterday (July 24, 2021) at around 12 pm along Mawanda Road, Kampala.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, the 14 violent suspects riding on seven motorbikes attacked a victim of foreign nationality identified as Jiwan Lal, an accountant working with Rigil Agrotech Company in Kololo, and robbed him of shs 5m and his two phones.
“The victim was surrounded and assaulted continuously until his money amounting to Shs5 million and two phones were stolen from him,” ASP Owesigyire said.
The police recorded statements from eyewitnesses and have started following up on leads that have proven helpful in identifying the suspects for arrest.
