FUFA Appoints Micho as Uganda Cranes Coach

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has Tuesday announced the appointment of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic as the new Uganda Cranes Head Coach.

Micho, 43, returns for the second as Cranes head coach having taken charge of the team between 2013-2017.

The announcement was made official by FUFA through their official Twitter account.

” FUFA names @michocoach the new Head coach of @UgandaCranes on a three-year renewable contract effective 1st August 2021,” FUFA tweeted on Tuesday evening.

The Serbian tactician has signed a three-year contract deal as he returns to the national team ahead of the 2020 World Cup Qualifiers. due in September this year.

Micho, is Uganda Cranes new Head Coach effective 1st August 2021

Micho, who until recently was coach of Zambia, returns to the job, once more after he resigned in 2017, only to be replaced by the then Uganda Cranes Coach, Sebastian Desabre.

The latter would then leave the coaching role after the 2019 AFCON and Mckinstry then took over until March this year, when he was sacked after just 18 months in charge.

According to FUFA, the new Head coach, Micho, has a contractual mandate to name his backroom staff and will address the media on Tuesday 3rd August 2021 as he begins his official duties with the Cranes team.

Micho has in the past had stints at SC Villa, Saint George SA(twice), Orlando Pirates(twice), Al Hilal Omdurman, Young Africans FC, Rwanda national team, Zamalek, Uganda national team and the Zambian national team.
